If your skip needs to be placed on a public road or highway, a permit (skip licence) is required from the local council. In our area, permits are issued by Wirral Council or Cheshire West and Chester Council. Currently, skip permits in Cheshire West and Chester cost £106, while in Wirral fees are up to £50 depending on the location and duration.

We can arrange the permit on your behalf to make the process straightforward and ensure everything is fully compliant before delivery.

Please note: permit fees are set and controlled by the relevant council, not by us. Charges and processing times may change without notice, so the exact cost will always be confirmed at the time of booking.

Our standard hire period is usually up to 14 days, which gives most customers plenty of time to complete their project without feeling rushed. If you finish sooner, simply let us know and we’ll arrange collection at a convenient time.

If you need the skip for longer, extended hire may be available depending on availability and location. Just speak to our team and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Please note: if the skip is placed on a public road, the hire period may be limited by the council permit duration. If an extension is required, additional permit fees may apply.

Most household waste, garden waste, furniture, wood, soil and general renovation materials can go in a 3 tonne mini skip. However, there are certain items that cannot be disposed of in skips, including hazardous waste, asbestos, tyres, gas bottles, fridges and electrical items.

For a full list of what can and cannot go in a skip, please read our detailed guide here

If you’re ever unsure about a specific item, just give our team a call and we’ll advise you.

We deliver skips across Wirral and Cheshire West, including Wallasey, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas. When booking, simply choose your preferred delivery date and we’ll confirm availability.

On delivery day, please ensure there is clear access to the drop-off location. Our drivers are experienced in placing skips safely and considerately, but sufficient space is required for the vehicle to manoeuvre.

Once you’ve finished loading the skip, just contact us and we’ll arrange collection promptly. If you complete your project earlier than expected, we’re happy to collect sooner.

If you have any concerns about access, positioning or permits, speak to our team before booking and we’ll guide you through the process.
